Beyond the Storm
Sometimes in the midst of the chaos that ensues in life, we go into survival mode. Dreams, aspirations and things that are important to us get put aside for the time being until we are able to get through the tough times. And yet, when submerged from the aftermath we often get a fresh new perspective of those things we put on hold.
As I sit here in my home office listening to beautiful acoustic guitar and sipping my Guayaki Yerba Mate, I reflect on the beauty of the morning after my most recent set of storms. Yahweh has not only brought me through with His peace that passes all understanding, it seems as though He is mercifully preparing me for storms to come. Like a parent who gently encourages a child learning to walk knowing that they will need to some day run.
It is in this momentary calm that the sun breaks through the clouds, giving light to more of the path before me. And I marvel at how far I’ve come in such a short time. I look behind and see the path I just journeyed through. It is then that I realized the jagged edges and steep cliff’s I had been walking through without notice. All the while clinging to my Father, trusting Him for my next step, with the peace and the storm being the only things keeping me from seeing what I was really going through. And I realize that if I had seen the difficult path before I had journeyed through it, I would have turned back.
So if you are facing a storm, take a moment to see the hidden blessing of it. It might just be a distraction to bless you through a treacherous journey. Or it may be there to teach you a new strength you will need in the road ahead.
May the Lord Bless you and keep you.
May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
The Lord lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace.
Selah & Shalom,
Rebecca
